The materials used to build a passive house
Mineral wool and expanded polystyrene
While building a passive house special attention should be paid to the insulation thickness that should be about 30 cm for walls and 40 cm for roofs. The materials most commonly used for warming houses of this type are polystyrene and mineral wool.
Windows and doors
Windows and doors should have triple glazing and special heat- tight windows. Such windows are mounted in the insulating layer of house to avoid the formation of thermal bridges, which should not occur in passive house.
